Our students spend a lot of time outdoors! The school is situated on ten acres of land, with plenty of woods, that allows for lots of exploration, free-play, and fun. It is very common for the students to take their recess time to build forts in the fall and spring, and igloos in the winter.

We also sneak away on field trips to local state parks and apple orchards. And we’ve been known to travel to Acadia National Park on occasion.

Similarly, when the weather is right and the ice is (safely) frozen, we know a couple of local ponds that beg to be skated on, so we oblige. Bringing a sled or two also makes for a good time.

Outdoor School

Every September, the elementary students have the option to travel to Camp Lawroweld, in the mountains of western Maine, to join with hundreds of other students from northern New England to participate in a multi-day Outdoor School.

During this time, students have the opportunity to study different habitats, like grasslands, lakes, ponds, and streams; middle school students are able to go on an overnight canoe trip or an overnight hiking trip. They participate in inspiring worships, and hear exciting talks, that leave them in awe of the God of creation.

It’s one of the highlights of the school year!
